Similar to all other stress tests online, these tests observe different symptoms of stress and how much they affect everyday life. This test explains that I am experiencing average stress in my life. My score is moderate, meaning I need to try to calm down my stress or it could go into the 30's and 40's which would be bad for my health.

Coping with stress is critical in keeping a healthy lifestyle. If one experiences too much stress, this can lead to serious health conditions later on in life, and/or an immediate health crisis. Healthy coping mechanisms I have found to work for me are:
- cuddling with my dogs
- listening to music
- taking a walk
- talking through my stressors with friends
- making lists of tasks to get done and how I will go about doing so
- planning self-care time
- connecting to faith
(CDC, 2021)

Stress can cause an abundance of health risks ranging from simple strain on muscles to serious heart disease. One's biology can explain why some people experience more stress than others. It is built into genetics on how one reacts and copes with stress. The psychological risk involves turning to unhealthy coping such as drinking or smoking to attempt to relieve the stress. If these unhealthy habits continue, they can also lead to life-threatening health conditions. Psychosocial aspects include lashing out and becoming more aggravated than others. Too much stress-strain on the body leads to serious health conditions, meaning controlling and coping with stress is essential to a healthy lifestyle.
(Sarafino & Smith, 2017)

When a person is able to pin point exactly what causes stress, they are able to limit their exposure to these things. For example, if falling behind in classes is a big stressor for someone, they can invest in a calendar to space out their work and stray away from procrastination and overwhelming thoughts. It is also important to know exactly which coping mechanisms work best for ones self as only ones self will be able to help. If someone understands themselves and their stress, it is easier to communicate all details to a healthcare worker to get the best assistance possible
