from my mind map i had gotten the idea of using only my hands rather than my face, if i was to do something practical. But or my tutorial i'd like to do a screencast, which can be done using things like hyper cam. I also got the idea to put music, but only if i decide not to talk. The video shown today was very helpful and helped me gain lost of ideas. The workshop with Corey was also helpful, as it showed the basic tools and editing skills on premier.

With the testing of being able to set up a tripod and a camera, I leant how to work in a team and also be a leader. We ended up having the fastest time!

In today's lesson we developed our story boards for our tutorial, although I changed what my tutorial would be about, I got on with it and did a bit of research. I'm also going to be doing individual learning and within that I will be looking at tutorials and what makes them enthralling to watch.

In my tutorial, there will not be talking, I will be adding text upon the video to show what shots are being presented.

Today we focused on pre-production. Within pre-production we had to finalise our storyboards and write a proposal. We also had to decide on what equipment we need and when we will need it. We needed to fill out a risk assessment, location visit sheet and a schedule. We had to identify pre-production documents.

The importance of pre-production is that everything needs to be planned in advance in case any mishaps. For pre-production I will need to ask Brendon at the college on what would be suitable and best for what I'd like to film.

Today we used a green screen and was able to film an improvised "show". We learnt why a green screen is green and why it's used, and how it is the furthest colour from your skin. We was allowed to go into the recording area and see how everything is shown and how you can switch between cameras while being live. I also got a chance to sit on the chair and be recorded, which was extremely embarrassing, as I'm shy and not photogenic at all. I looked awful. But the highlight of it all was what kieran said.

Today we had an introduction to editing and how to edit a basic video. This was extremely helpful as I would like to edit my tutorial after it has been recorded. The person teaching us was extremely helpful as he showed us many ways to edit certain things within the programme. He showed us how to use Premier and Final cut. I prefer visual/hands on tutorials as it helps me get a better understanding on how things work. We also worked on premier ourselves seeing if what we were shown was helpful, this included titles, transitions, cropping, etc. We also was taken around the TV studio again to see the ins and outs of recording.

Surprisingly enough, today was my first time using Adobe Photoshop after viewing multiple tutorials. I felt more comfortable that I tested it out, rather than just saying a tutorial is easy and completely winging it.

Despite being extremely bad, I feel as if with practice i could actually get a hand of using Adobe Photoshop.

I also learnt that camera shots have specific names, and can actually have an effect on the emotion that the viewer feels when they view the image taken.
