Sunlight (white light) is necessary for photosynthesis. Sunlight goes into the choloroplast, along with water, to make oxygen. Carbon dioxide also comes into the cholorplast, goes through the calvain cycle, and turns out as glucose. So, sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide make glucose during photosynthesis.

If leaf disks are put in a beaker that has baking soda, water, and soap, then photosynthesis in the leaf disks, will work better under white light than green light because plants use sunlight, which is white light, for photosynthesis.

The hypothesis we made was correct! Our conclusion is that using green light didn't change the reaction for the leaf because, the green light just reflects off of the chlorophyll. This happens because the chlorophyll is green. This means that the leaf under green light does not absorb any light. The leaves under the white light however, did absorb the light which made them float unlike the leaves under the green light.
