Definitions

Acceleration= increase in the rate or speed of something

Centripetal= moving or tending to move toward the center

Centrifugal force= an apperant force that acts outward on a body moving

Around a center arising from the body's inertia

G=A g is a unit of acceleration equal to the acceleration caused by gravity.

Momentum=Momentum pertains to the quantity of motion that an object possesses.

Weightlessness= being without apparent weight as a freely falling body

These all apply to roller coasters because as you ride the roller coaster you experience

Each of these properties

Friction is a force that resists the motion of an object this applies to roller coasters

because when you ride a roller coaster u try to resist some of the motions

Potential energy is when a object has the to move by itself

kinetic energy is an energy an object has when its moving

potential energy= mass x g x height

PE= m h x (9.8 m/s/s)

kinetic energy= 1/2 x mass x velocity2

KE=1/2mv2

Energy is measured in joules

When the roller coaster goes up it uses more potential energy

but when it goes down it use Kinect energy

Roller coasters began in Russia when people would shape ice into hills and ride sleds on them.

The French then took this idea and made it better, using waxed slides and adding

wheels to the sleds, creating a coaster a roller dose all of these turn because it is

mounted on the track an there is a force being applied on the coaster
