This was a huge eye-opener for me. As I was learning, I found myself having a visual reference for myself. The teachers I have been working with are implementing this to the best of their ability. I am going to encourage my teachers to list me in their google classroom and allow me to have the lessons ahead of time, then I can go through them and have an idea of the lesson coming up. Then I can help with facilitating the lessons. Thank you for all of your help.

Today went well. I am always grateful for your insight and your feedback. This summer I will be spending time creating a road map, further developing my curriculum, putting together new playlists and mini lessons. I really need to just talk to you about rubrics. You are one of my absolute favorite people in the world! Thank you for all you do!

Honestly, I am struggling to focus. That being said, I feel like I have a good grasp of the playlist. I have some ideas to add more things to the playlist. Like an electronic checkpoint so students can feel successful before they attempt a paper one in class. While reviewing the materials I have found myself wanting to see how I can implement practices from "Building Thinking Classrooms". My plan is to do my own book study on it this summer and see how I can implement it in the classroom. Also I feel like I am getting some of the pacing down, but I am still not sure the impact of mutliple choices and student timing within the classroom. Still working on all of it.

I am struggling with many things surrounding the disciplinary skills and knowing what to include on the playlists. For example, what would I give the kids to read or view concerning " Evaluate various interpretations to answer compelling questions with and across disciplines?" The content standards are much easier for me, but some of these disciplinary skills take me hours to decide how to present them and what resources to put on the playlist. Then, once I get to that point, it takes me forever to develop the choices for evidence/performance tasks. I think once I get past this part, playlists will just fly out of my head

Today went better than a lot of our previous playlist PD sessions, simply because I felt less distracted by other tasks and responsibilities. I also felt like I had a concrete direction I wanted to go for the last four weeks of school, so I was able to incorporate that into a playlist fairly easily. I know I still have a long way to go on playlists, but I feel like the biggest issue there is time; if I have some time to work on them, they'll get done. I feel like I have the ability and resources to take care of it; I just need to make it happen, likely during the summer.

I think also having a clearer picture of where the district is going (and what will happen with a new principal here at the HS) will make things a little easier to get through.
