I think that everyone needs to be given a chance to give their opinion, and everyone’s ideas needs to be taken into account. Even when you disagree with someone’s opinion you still have to treat them with respect. We do not need to insult or degrade people in order to get our point across. I am a great believer in treating others the way you would like to be treated. I feel that if you want to interact well with others you need to learn to be a good listener. It is important to know when to talk and when to listen to someone.

Respect their opinion. I am of the opinion that one learns from every situation. No matter what your personal feelings maybe it is important to always mind your manners. Always think before you reply and never reply in anger. Learn to apologize when needed. It is important not to burn your bridges and do not take anything personally. Always remember that everyone is working towards the same goals. Also always maintain your morals in all situations.

Respect comes from both sides. As a person in authority you always need to know what the needs of your staff are. There needs to be a balance you cannot only be their friends you also need to be fair and strict. It is important for your staff to know they can count on you and that you are fair in what you do and say. Treat everyone the same and let them know when they do something that is not according school policy. Guide and assist them when needed. Always have an open door and be approachable. Communication should come from both sides. A leader should always show that you are open to input and new ideas. Lead the way you would like to be led.
