Art is a beautiful way to express emotions and creativity, when they child is doing art they like to tell me the stories behind what they drew, I would ask the child many questions about their drawing/painting. We as an ECE worker can support the child’s needs when there as art activities and communicate about all the things art can do, and show them new ways to create a positive art.

art helps calming them, we can see how creative they can be, they concentrate when working on something instead of just having a play time, they communicate about what they will be making and talk about what she/he is making, Caregivers can support them by telling them they are doing an amazing job and we can also help them on what their working on, be proud of their art so they can have more motivation to do more arts and craft

Art helps a child communicate in many ways such as expressing how they feel and turning it into something beautiful, from painting their family and friends to being as creative they can be, creativity sometimes takes a push start but once their minds are focused they have endless ideas of what they want to paint. What they see is what they know, they can turn any art into communication.

ECE workers can support this by helping the children have endless ideas about how their life is like. By getting the painting supplies ready to use.

Doing art is so much fun! One of the best way to socialize when making art with children. They have so much imagination and when they put it out and show it on their art work that gives them confidence when they are done. I like to ask them what colour they are using and what they are drawing.
