The plot is set in the rural south east in England in the early 19th century. As regards the style, the writer uses third-person presenting the action from her point of view, on the other hand the first-person narrative plays a part in the novel by means of many letters. Besides irony is much employed. The narration of events is balanced by passages of riflection and by letters. Pride and Prejudice’s main themes are: love, wealth, status and marriage, in terms of security and independence, arising out the physical infatuation as well as containing elements of love and prudence.
