Since FGM is an endangering malpractice to a girl child's health, need there be precautions and ways to cease this practice.
UNICEF has travelled to Senegal, Kenya, Mali and Ethiopia providing essential education and creating awareness on this issue. All this is possible due to the help that comes from donors and co-operative community leaders, who are able to work in partnership with UNICEF agents to create awareness of FGM.
UNICEF has also created a global programme (Joint Programme) that has promoted FGM's profile and has reached national and regional levels enabling health officers to act accordingly toward ending this deranged act.
Legalization of a law that criminalizes FGM and to those who practice it either education or severe punishment.

In every year, over 4 million girls and women are at the risk of undergoing this malpractice of FGM. Despite its international fame, it is still practiced by many communities in the world as it is cultural.
One in four girls is at a risk of death namely due to haemorrhage, shock, infection, urine retention or severe pain, as it is a procedure involving partial or whole removal of the female external genetalia.

Approach it in the most sensitive manner to get many people to give their thoughts in this matter.
Show how helpful UNICEF is and what it has done to help cease FGM by setting up an open forum in one of the rooms in the universities
Creating digital posters to spread awareness of the dangers of the practice toward the girl child's health.
Doing more research on applicable ways to reach more girls and save their health by choosing those that have worked for students that have tried before.
Be a part of the donor community and sign up for UNICEF charities and donation forums, and encourage fellow students to do so as well.
