Lindo grew up in a "middle class" family until tragedy struck her home. She married and was forced to move with her no betrothed were she lived as a servant. After her wedding the red candle was lit, and blew out showing a sign of trouble; with her mother-in-law wanting a child she forced them to lay together. With only the feeling of sadness, Lindo devised a plan that got her out of her marriage and to America where she remarried and lived with happiness.
