I've been on a reading spree of suspenseful books. This one is a domestic thriller about a woman who runs away from her abusive husband. Time then flashes forward to present day, which is eleven years after she fled. She has a daughter and now her husband is searching for them. I am at the part in the book where the husband found them and is making contact with his daughter. They are keeping it quiet and not telling the wife/mother. I am predicting that the husband/father has bad intentions and wants to hurt the wife again. This book is definitely keeping me on my toes. I really like the wife and am hoping she is able to stay away from her horrible ex-husband and keep her daughter safe. I plan to finish this book this week. I can't wait to see how it ends. The author, Cea, tells her story about growing up in the 1970s with her grandparents and ultimately wandering with her young (and probably unfit) mother. I admire Cea for overcoming so many challenges of living such a strange life. She never had a tv, a steady home, or many belongings. Cea left her home when she was 13 to spend the summer in NYC in a modeling program. That is as far as I have gotten in my book. So far there’s lots of twists and I keep having to make predictions and draw conclusions, which is making the reading fun.
