Have you ever gotten a jingle stuck in your head? If you have, did the product or company from that jingle come to mind?
Media is going on around us, whether we are paying attention to it or not. Jingles are catchy tunes can stick to us if we are actively or passively listening to it. The following two clips have jingles that I am willing to bet you would be able to hum along to.
https://youtu.be/VJJ-ZLdrTwY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nkcVz1mad0

How are persuasive images effective?

Attractive images draw our eyes daily. You walk by a cool movie poster, a colorful bookstore, or campaign billboard. Have you thought of advertisements being the same way? Images with the words "Buy now!", "New York Times Bestseller", and "Vote now!". These appear everywhere, from your Instagram feed to the MLA citation website you use for your English homework.
What makes these images so persuasive?
The color scheme, diction, and graphic design all play into targeting a certain audience. If you saw an advertisement on Instagram with a pink wall, gold confetti balloons, cactus, you could probably guess hat this ad is aimed at basic teenage girls. At the same time, if you saw an advertisement with camouflage, guns, and bows, you could probably guess that this would be aimed at hunters.
By showing a certain audience appealing things that fit to their interests, the selling group or person gains their attention and maybe their money.
