It was typical for people to work for about more than 16 hours a day minimum pay. Pay was extremely low that families even needed their own children to help out. Also, these workers had little to no rights when working in these industrial jobs. Even when children and adults have gotten injured on the job they still were treated with less respect and suffered on the job until they could not work anymore.

They impacted many lives in multiple ways and culturally also. The 19th and 21st amendment also brought a positive impact because it allowed woman to finally have their own voice being heard.
