I chose 4th grade for this assignment. The topic I chose was using dialogue and description to develop experiences and events or show the response of characters to the situations. More specifically I went with show character emotions and traits. I picked this topic because I think children must know their emotions and how to express them. Also, it is important for children to be able to identify others' emotions and how to react to them.

One idea I had was to have students act out a play. For example, if it says that someone is mad, they need to show me that he is mad instead of telling me.

I also had one where they play like charades with different emotions and students had to guess and describe what they were doing that let them know they were mad or sad.

Students could also write down examples from the book they are reading and draw a picture of what it looks like.

In this lesson, students describe different ways they can move their bodies. Then they talk about how they can change their movement. They can make longer or shorter strides or making their muscles tighter or looser. They can also show how their walking changes when they are mad, sad, or happy.
