This student strike worked because the students felt enabled to take agency and stand up for what they believed their education should be. They had specific goals in mind and were well prepared to execute them. They used their voices to seek education that included all voices, not just those of white people. i think students today are much more hesitant towards protests and standing up for what they believe is right because of how little they are involved, how little they know, and a fear of what their peers will think

For example, students still continued to protest at San Fransico State during strikes, even with police present, that were called by their college president. The students were fighting for more representation of marginalized cultures in college curriculum, as well as representation around campus at historically White dominated colleges. Students today definitely still have this power because we all have the ability to use our voices to challenge certain perspectives and ideals.
