We want to start talking about the History of Cerro Alegre because it's important for us to know the origin of all the important events of Cerro Alegre. Cerro Alegre also called "Jardín de Cañete", begins from the times of the viceroyalty. Its beginnings occurred when Cerro Alegre needed people to work in the agricultural fields. Cerro Alegre wanted to be part of the Cañete agriculture economy. It is located in Imperial, one of the main districts of Cañete. 

We are writing this letter to tell you that the Cerro Alegre town festival is celebrated every year, there is a historical character named Josefina Ramos Vda. by Gonzales Prada who was a fighter woman, devoted to the Virgen de la Asunción we must also pay tribute to her and plan a specific date to also celebrate her party.
In Cerro Alegre there are many typical dishes from the regular ones such as tamales  ones such as carapulcra, in Cerro Alegre you can find almost all the gastronomy of Cañete for example the chicharron,  the chapana which is a sweet of yucca and papa a la huancaína.

Cerro Alegre is rich in gastronomy thanks to the fact that it is close to Imperial and Quilmana, for that reason its gastronomy is even, thanks to these two places Cerro Alegre has an assorted and unique gastronomy.

For all these reasons, We think we should do our best to have a good Cerro Alegre patronal festival.
