The legendary Michael Jordan won 6 rings with the Chicago Bulls, and did not lose a Finals series, leaving his resume spotless. Elgin Baylor of the Los Angeles Lakers has the sinlge game scoring record, with 61 points in one game in 1962 in the ABA, before the NBA merger.

LeBron James' teams have gone to the Finals from the eastern Conference every year since 20011-12, and will presumably do so again this year. Stephen Curry and the Golden State warriors just went back to back years, and with the addition of Kevin Durant, can very well do so again this year for a third straight match-up with LeBron´s Cavaliers

Aside from the merging of the ABA and NBL into the NBA, the only major change to the Finals was the layout of the order in which games would be played. It was initially in the order of 2-2-1-1-1, but was changed to 2-3-2 to shorten the series and lower travel costs for both the players and fans. However, the old order was re-established recently.

The revenue from the series has steadily increased since the first NBA Finals in 1969. An example is one game in 2013´s Finals between LeBron James´ Miami Heat and Tim Duncan´s San Antonio Spurs bringing in an estimated revenue of almost $4 million. This year, that number could increase even further due to a probable third straight match-up between LeBron James´ Cavaliers and Stephen Curry´s Golden State Warriors.

Michael Jordan had the fabled ¨Flu Game" in the 1997 Finals, clinching a win while severely ill, with the support of Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, of course. In 2013, LeBron James´ legacy was possibly saved by Ray Allen making probably the clutchest shot in NBA History, keeping the Heat in the game and forcing a Game 7 against arguanly the best iteration of Tim Duncan´s Spurs ever assembled.
