#1 What advantages and disadvantages do you see in using a cap-and-trade system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?
#2 What pros and cons do you see in using carbon taxes to achieve this goal?
#3 What do you think of a "fee-and-dividend" program?
#4 If you were a U.S. senator, what type of policy would you support in order to address emissions in the U.S., and why?

1: cap and trade disadvantages- bigger companies can buy the allowances, the government could give too many allowances to companies that create worse pollutants but pay more money, and the work of offsets might not balance out the effects of the emissions
1: cap and trade advantages reduce emissions without much effort, and it allows approach the problem indivdually
(If we were a US senator we would probably choose the policy that would benefit ourselves and the companies who donate to us instead of what is best for the environment. The senators have been bought by the lobbying efforts of Big Oil and Gas.)
