In this community, we are free to say mostly anything that doesn't connect to racial slurs, live in whatever place that is available for purchase, have our own beliefs, and many more things. Nobody is above the law, which includes the president.

There is a major difference between relating yourself to another individual and invalidating their idea because you crave a higher reputation for yourself. For instance, an example of relating yourself to another individual is to compare your basketball skills while maintaining a positive attitude throughout the way. However, a scenario in which their idea is being invalidated is to bring up the one time the other person missed the hoop during a game but also adding a time where you scored in the last round of your game that caused your team to win.
