What is a guarantor ?

Your guarantor undertakes to pay the rent if you are unable to pay.

A guarantor is someone who is strongly committed to you, and whose income is sufficient (at least 3 times the amount of the rent) to pay your rent in case of need. Often, guarantors are the tenant's parents, but you can call on any trusted relative.

The application isn't complicated, but it does require several supporting documents. And often, the CAF will send you your file again and again and again, asking for a new supporting document each time. Don't give up and keep replying!
