How and Why did your family come to the United States?

All sides of my family came to America for new oppurtunites and freedoms. On my dad's side they came from Chihuahua, to Los Angeles. On my mom's side they came from Sweden, Germany, Austria, Russia, England, and Canada. I have also found that my distant great grandparents arrived in America from the Mayflower.

What were the obstacles that they met?

For my great grandparents that arrived on the Mayflower it must've been hard. My great grandfather who was on the Mayflower fell off of the ship and had a book written about him "The Boy Who Fell From the Mayflower". On my dad's side It couldn't have been terrible since when they came the border to Mexico wasn't as harsh. On my mom's side they came from ships and boats not just from the Mayflower but from other countries later on, so it must've taken a long time and been hard being at sea for such a long time traveling from Europe to the America's.

What was going on Historically in the U.S. during this time and did it affect your family?

On my mom's side the US in the late 1800's was having great success in their industrial development which probably caused my ancestors to travel from their countries to America. On my dad's side they immigrated in the early 1900's when World War 1 was ongoing, also many people were immigrating into the US during this time. The Ford Model T became available to the market.
