"But above the gray land and the spasms of bleak dust which drift endlessly over it, you perceive, after a moment, the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg. The eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg are blue and gigantic — their irises are one yard high. They look out of no face, but, instead, from a pair of enormous yellow spectacles which pass over a nonexistent nose. Evidently some wild wag of an oculist set them there to fatten his practice in the borough of Queens, and then sank down himself into eternal blindness, or forgot them and moved away. But his eyes, dimmed a little by many paintless days, under sun and rain, brood on over the solemn dumping ground."

Gatsby throws huge parties at his mansion that everyone comes to, even the people who don’t even know him. Nick gets invited to Gatsby’s party and decides to go, this is where he meets Jordan Baker and Jay Gatsby and starts to see what his life there would be like. Throughout the night, Nick was trying to find Gatsby at the party. Everyone he talked to had no idea where he was and they all had different assumptions about who he was and what he did. Finally, Nick is talking to a man that he doesn’t know, then the man tells him he is Gatsby. Nick says, “I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known,” Nick begins to realize the life of the people around him. They all lie and think that money and popularity is everything. He knows that he is an honest person and he is proud of that.

Gatsby asked Nick to have Daisy over for tea. Once she came over Gatsby also was there so that Daisy would see him again. This is how Daisy and Gatsby meet again. Now that Gatsby and Daisy are together in his house he feels his dream is complete and the significance of the green light means nothing now. “He had thrown himself into it with a creative passion, adding to it all the time, decking it out with every bright feather that drifted his way.” Gatsby has dedicated his life to being with Daisy. Everything he has done has been for her and now that he’s with her he has completely thrown himself at her and given her all his love.
