November 30, 2017/ prock.Dawson/ leave a comment

MLA Citation: Asher, Razorbill, 13 reasons why, 2007

I have currently read 117 Pages.

The story line continues, the mysteries, and incidents that resulted in the death of Hannah baker are being uncovered by Clay Jensen, while on a pursuit to get through all the tapes and give justice to the case, all the kids from school that are apart of the tapes attempt to stop him.

Clay Jensen: Clay is continuing on route to uncover and solve the mystery of Hannah bakers reasoning for killing herself. He has major flashbacks and feels weird, so weird that it begins to show and The people around him start to notice. But Clay does not care, he is on a mission.

Hannah baker: Hannah talks in tapes 2 and 3 about her closest friends are turning to her worst enemies, she gives vivid scenes and images of how the relationships were torn apart and how it effected her personally. She then goes on to tell them, “there a reason why”.

Justin Foley: Justin is hannahs e boyfriend, he is one of the reasons why. In his tape she talks about how he took advantage of her, and spread rumors and lies around the school. Justin begins to feel sorry for his actions and treats Clay better than the rest of the students on the tapes.

Zach Dimpsey: Until now Hannah and the narrator have described justin as a nice thoughtful guy. But later in the story his tape is one that comes up and in his tape Hannah talks about how he raped her.

I am starting to find Zach to be an interesting character, up until this point in the story he was described as a sweet guy, and now he’s thought out to be one of the worst people in town.

I continue to find Clay interesting due to how he continues to change himself over the story, He loved Hannah baker and he cannot move on with his life until he uncovers the mystery.

Themes: Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Because a handful of people had to put one girl down and make her feel bad about herself everyday, they are now paying the price through guilt after she kills herself and her blood is on their hands. This is similar to the story, “The truth” written by neil strauss.
