3.Death: Died on December 22, 1880 in Chelsea, London.
4.Occupation: Novelist, translator.

6.Literary Genre: Realistic novels and their psychological depths.
7.Childhood and Studies:Mary Anne Evans is the third child of Robert and Christiana Evans. His father, Robert Evans, is a stage manager at Arbury Hall Castle, belonging to the Newdigate family and lives with his family a farm on the edge of the property.Thanks to her father's position in the mansion, she was permitted to frequent the library of the castle, where she would be educated in books, reading Walter Scott, Shakespeare.
At thirteen, she was sent to a religious school in Coventry, where she learned French. Very soon, religion takes a great influence in his life.
8.Adult Life: Mary stands apart from the literary societies of London and now devotes herself to becoming a novelist in her own right. A desire she displays in one of his last tickets for the Review. She adopts the pseudonym of George Eliot.
