         <description><![CDATA[<div>Epigenetics is a very interesting subject because I used to think that all of our characteristics come straight from DNA. The idea is definitely intriguing, but trying to prove epigenetics is very challenging. The examples provide good concrete evidence of how epigenetics pass down from parent to offspring; the water flea example was especially interesting. However, epigenetics seems to prove that there are a lot of concepts surrounding genetics that we do not know a lot about. What are y'all's opinions on epigenetics?&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It's quite interesting to note the existence of epigenetics, with little to no ways to concretely prove it. The experiences of the parents get passed down to the parents, with barely any epigenetic tags making it through the erasing of these tags by cellular machinery. The coolest thing is the continual mutation of the organism, allowing it to change its gene expression to fit its environment without having to change the genetic coding.</div>]]></description>

In the article it states, "Epigenetic inheritance is an unconventional finding. It goes against the idea that inheritance happens only through the DNA code that passes from parent to offspring. It means that a parent's experiences, in the form of epigenetic tags, can be passed down to future generations." This is interesting because it means that all of our characteristics do not come straight from our DNA. But that stuff is passed down from our parents through Epigenetic inheritance.  <br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
