POINTE DE CHATEAUX

The topic we discussed today was getting into international school projects: characteristics, aims and the competences and skills international school projects promote.

Today we have talked about how different subjects can be included in our international projects.
How can we get our international projects into all our class steps.
So the youngest pupils and learning have reached and feel part of the international work.
Many good ideas were given.
It is very important when you make or seek an international project that you are passionate about it, you do it, is easier to get colleagues and students included in the project, you also have to think that everything is possible if only you work for it.

Nothing is impossible for the one who carries the will in the heart

The excursion today was a great example of the variety in nature in Guadeloupe. We have seen the white sandy beaches, been to the rainforest, seen the plantations with bananas and sugar canes and now we saw the waves breaking on the rough cliffs round the Pointe de Chateux.
I enjoyed the cooking lesson we had very much. To me, being in another culture always means tasting traditional food. I really loved to see how the fresh fish were prepared and I appreciated to be a part of the preparation of the tasty sauce and coconut cream. I will try to cook this, when I'm back in Denmark and I know it will make me remember the nice experiences we have had in Guadeloupe.
The session about project implementation in the school curriculum was interesting for me. I find it intersting to share ideas and brush up my knowledge. The texts we have in our course material reminds me of putting words on the Key Competences we use in the international projects. This material is useful for me, when I will write final reports in the project we are about to end.

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
― Albert Einstein

Point de Chateaux is like a finger pointing to the east. It is the most advanced place of Grande Terre, a rocky spur just in front of the island Desirade, these cliffs constantly suffer the assaults of the sea and the wind. To describe it is called "the end of the world", this expression in Italian indicates a very beautiful thing. The landscape is wild and raw, surmounted by a large cross. The view is breathtaking and you feel small and big at the same time. In this special place the group has discussed in a specific and in-depth way the 8 key competences, each of us has presented one and then they have been compared, internationally. The activity ended with a barbecue prepared by Rita and Michelle. Even the preparation of food has its own history that can be compared

You do not understand a tradition if you do not see it in relation to others.

The topic of today were the 8 key competences of International learning. The lesson was outdoor, as usual, in a special nature scenery: the Point of Chateaux The power of the sea was impressive and this sight I will never forget. The view was stunning! The turquoise of the water, the sun rays and the rough rocks combine to form a perfect place.
The group analyzed the key competences for lifelong learning based on the European Framework. All of us presented one key competence and explained how it can support the development of International activities. We shared a lot of useful ideas!!
We also learnt about how to set an International project in E Twinning. We have got many examples to use in our school when we’ll be back

“The ocean reminds us how we are really small”
