According to the Government of NSW, the largest statistic of fatal accidents where there was a driver under the influence of illicit substances are males aged 0-39, responsible for 55% of fatal accidents between the years 2011 to 2016, this is evident in the target audience in similar advertisements.

This source is not scholarly, however, shows the data of drug driving trauma and how this effects the people on the road. this was helpful because it allowed for credible statistics to use towards gathering a target audience

Advertisement plan

The plan for the advertisement is to have an actor that clearly shows withdrawl symptoms, smoke apears from a first person perspective and it is set inside a car. With the use of visual effects and sound effects, the driver is slowly having their vision distorted, the colours changing, eyes slowly opening and closing, then a loud crash. the driver awakes to seirens and the message "drug driving? wake up" appears on the screen as it fades to black. the tone of this ad is meant to be serious, this appeals to the target audience as the ads explored show a more childlike innocence, whereas the biggest offenders of drug driving are males in their mid to late 30's are the biggest offenders and hence, a serious tone will better convey the message shown.
