-Each sled is pulled by a team of 16 dogs 
-The dogs need 10-12,000 calories a day
-The dogs wear something on there feet called booties
- Booties are requires for the dogs
- In the iditarod race there is a Jamaican dog sled team
-  In 2010 a team member (Newton Marshall) became the first Jamaican to compete in the iditarod race
- Dogs can be saved with mouth to snout
- Marshall saved one of his dogs who collapsed on the trail
- Sled dogs have to study their vocabulary 
- This is their vocabulary: Hike! Haw! Gee! On By! Easy! and Whoa!
