This course, for first-year and new Sacred Heart students, will help you to develop your skills in academic writing and discourse. Its seminar style and small-class setting give you the opportunity to learn through meaningful participation and genuine collaboration.

This particular seminar is based on the notion that coursework is more engaging and rewarding when it includes things that matter to you. Consequently, every member of the class will assume responsibility for the topics we consider and the activities we do.

You will select a social problem of interest for inquiry and analysis. And since learning is a social activity, you’ll be sharing what you’ve learned with the class and giving feedback to others to help them along.
