That’s just unfair. By that time it already would have been decided if they would get adopted or if they would go home to their parents.

But what if the children have something to tell the judge that they knew their parents would never tell them about.

Then that means a 6 year old child knows important information but they won’t be able to share it until they’re 10.

Wow! That’s a lot. But another 700,000 have their guardianship decided each year. That’s almost 6 times as many as are adopted.

In most cases kids are under 5 when they become foster children. So these kids don’t have a say in anything that was happening.

And some of these cases are of large sibling groups.

That’s too much work on their shoulders and it also means that less attention is given to each child in each case. We need to take care of our own children.

It’s our job. We can’t leave kids hanging. If you’re not going to let them live with their family, then at least let them use their voices.

So why don’t they give kids a voice sooner? Because they are too young.

Why do kids still go to foster care? Because their parents are either neglectful or abusive.

What if the kids have important information that the judges are missing? I guess they’ll never figure it out because they won’t listen to the children.

“Could my kids go into foster care?”

“Am I a neglectful or abusive parent?”

“Do I, even though they are not in foster care. Do I listen to

my children?”

We should let kids use their voices. They should get a chance to address the judge. And they shouldn’t have to wait until they’re 10 or 12.

They should be able to talk when they become foster children.

I just want you to consider this.

With more socially involved students we will have more people who may get politically involved at school and in the future.

Organized family style dinners every night can let the children have a chance to talk about whats going on at school and what they think about the situation they're in.
