Between the different parts of the piece, imitation can be seen . For example in the Copper 1 and Copper 3 parts. Both sections are similar in terms that the same pattern and the length of the note being the same, the main difference between the two parts would be the notes used.
Sequence can also be seen in the first half of the piece where all the different parts had to repeat 2 bars twice.
This lesson can be related to the Global Context - Fairness and Development as Mendelssohn is fair to the different members of the orchestra because he gave the same parts to both the wood winds and the strings, but they have it at different timesq

In the song "first things first", in copper 1, the first bar starts with Mi Fa So and the third bar also plays the same, in which imitation was present. We can say that imitation is a repetitiin if notes in a different bar. As this piece was made by Mandelssohn, it complately fits the global context fairness and development, since in even in his other pieces, he would allow the instruments to switch parts in playing the melody and base. Besides, there was a sequence from the fifth to sixth bars. Since the fith bar played G F G and the sixth played F E F, in which the beats were both 1,1,2. Moreover, the notes ere one tone down, if we compare the notes, which fifth bar was in a higher tone n 6th was lower

For example in the composition of ‘First Things First’ imitation was shown in three bars of Copper 1, Copper 2 and Copper 3. The play similarly as the number of notes and similar rhythm but with the use of different pitches. Sequences is basically is basically a single line of notes, such as Copper 3 itself.

Felix Mendelssohn is an influential German composed during the Romantic Period. He has great feats such as The Midsummers Night’s Dream and the Italian Symphony. The Midsummers Night’s Dream sounds unfamiliar, however upon hearing it ; it is one of the most commonly heard song. The song is heard globally as the beginning of a wedding ceremony. Linking the composition with our global context of ‘Fairness and Development’, it can be linked through Copyrights. The song was popularised as the composition was utilised for the wedding of Queen Victoria’s daughter. This started a trend of wedding couples utilising the composition as their wedding song. With Copyright, everytine the composition is used, Felix Mendelssohn will be compensated. This is ‘fair’ as Mendelssohn is the rightful composer of the song, so being compensated for the use of it is morally and ethically correct. The compensation for the use of the song helped ‘develop’ Mendelssohn as with the sun of money, Mendelssohn would be capable of composing more songs and also grew to one of the most influential Romance Period composer

Since he composed his music, he is getting paid when his music is played whenever and wherever. By seeing this system, other muscians got some motivation to compose better music as they would also like to be paid. Therefore they can do what they are passionate in and also earn money at the same time (fairness and development)

Do you think being a classical musician means poverty?

Well poverty means the lack and inability to meet basic needs such as food, shelter and shelter. I do not think being a classical musician makes you impoverished. It all depends on the era and trend during the set time. If a classical musician was present during the Romantic Period it renaissance period, he/she will be famous. As during that period of time, the trending genre of music is classical music. Which means people will listen to it more. As compared to the current society, where classical music are not in trend or as popular as it used to be. Nowadays the trending genre of music would be Hip-Hop, RnB and Pop. So being a classical musician during the 21st century, will not be as affluent.

Which musician will earn more? Mendelssohn or Shakira? In what way this difference in pay can be equalised through Fairness and Development?

I believe during the 21st century, musical artists like Shakira would earn more than Mendelssohn. To combat this difference would be implementing Copyrights. The copyrights for Mendelssohn has for been abolished as copyrights are only applicable for 100 years. Through implementing the copyrights, Mendelssohn and Shakira would both receive finance through the streams of their song

So being a classical musician means poor as pop artist make more money than them as people more into pop music so shakira will make more money.
So in conclusion, classical music is not the people's choice on music anymore as pop music is more people's type.

Chromatic scales are used in 12 tone series as prime and rétrogrades. Rétrogrades is the opposite of the main keys which is prime. 12 tone series in prime the notes increase in pitch and the keys are higher- A, A#, B, B#, C, C#. Serialism started after the world war 2, and they wanted to move away from tonality, because they want to move away from functional tonality and the negative experiences in the past so they wanted a new sound to express themselves.
Atonal is a ghost like sound without harmony.

1) chromatic scale is used thoroughly throughout the 12 tone series. In a single line, the 12 tones of the chromatic scale can not be repeated, only after 12 tones, the notes utilised may be repeated.

2) it’s because the musicians want to evolve and move away from the traditional note writing method. Such key signature note writing, wheres this specific series focuses on “nut or night”

3)

I understand by music can be not only heard but can also I felt my the vibration of the sound

Are you able to use ATL skills to help you master the exam pieces?

Yes, I was able to utilise the ATL skills such as communicator and self management skills. Communicator as I was able to portray the piece of music, through playing the trumpet. Furthermore I my sight reading and fingering of the music notes has improved drastically enabling me to play whilst reading with ease. Self management skill as I had to control to amount of air utilised and the shape of my mouth to reach the tone of the notes played.

Which section of the PDCA you find most difficult to complete

I do not have any difficulty with the PDCA.

How do you interpret the articulations?

I can interpret the articulations through listening to the note played by the teacher, hence practicing and assuming the air speed and shape of the mouth to reach the optimum accuracy.

ATL Skills:
I used communication skills and thinking skills mainly for me to master my exam pieces. Communicating skills was definitely significant, as I had to ask for guidance from the teacher in order to understand my strength and weaknesses of playing a certain note. As trombone was an instrument that highly depended on positioning and hearing, it was inevitable to ask for professional help in order to play the correct note, in a broader and fruitful manner. As for thinking skills, it was a challenge for me to read through the notes while playing my trombone. It was a challenge that could only be solved by practice. I had to do some thinking in order to familiarise my hearing and arms into certain pitches and positions. Therefore, the best way was really by just playing and playing as much as I could, and choosing the best one.

Difficulties in PDCA?
My greatest challenge was the DO step. This was because I had very limited time to practice my pieces, which really impacted my skills in note reading and pitch hearing.

How do you interpret "articulation" ?
To me, articulations are just like someone's mood. Based on how the notes are played, the audiences basically gets the mood and the flow of the whole music. It's definitely a great ingredient to make the music piece much interesting with unique articulations in every few bars.
