It is an important issue as many students go through depression due to work load and loss of grades caused by minor subjects. Minor subjects should be there in the course, but the amount of credit hours and projects needs to be reduced. As of now, they are being treated as major subjects, because students are given equal number of assignments, presentations and quizzes.
It will benefit students in a way that they would get more knowledge and less stress of the subject. This issue did not get addressed as no one tried to talk to the authorities. But we have to pay same attention to minors also because they have same credit hours and same grade. These minor subjects are even not useful like major ones in our career. Minor subjects are just an over burden for the students when we have to study 5 or 6 courses per semester out of which only 3 are major ones. Universities should change this policy and grade criteria for minor subjects should be less than the major ones. Then students would be able to focus on major subjects. We have conducted random interviews in our university related to minor and major subjects and we were shocked to know that majority was stressed by the minor subjects.  Everyone is tired by giving same attention to both courses. We have a new innovative idea for the administration of our university they can conduct an online pole on our university portal then every student will be able to vote according to his choice. It will show a whole and better image of students decision about the minor and major subjects.
