I'm an ENL teacher! I celebrate all of my students' language and cultures. I often ask them to teach me how to say things in their languages to show them that I am interested. I choose books that reflect their backgrounds. I use their home language to help them learn English and access content. I provide translations and tools that they can use to translate for themselves.
We have celebrations and do projects around their cultures.
