There are many things that can help improve your health through learning and understanding. The relationships within a family can contribute a positive or negative effect on other people within that family. Negative actions can effect everyone around the conflict, "The effect of the hardship depends on the way it effects daily life, in other words, the emotional response of the family and the individual are what determined the psychological effect of the event" (Family, Culture, and Peers, 2). Conflicts between parents can contribute negatively towards the child by becoming absent within their lives, and letting them make their own decisions with no supervision. A child needs an influential adult that will express to them what is right and wrong. A neighborhood can have a positive influence on a person, "Living in an affluent neighborhood where the residents are college-educated professionals is associated with advantages for adolescents' academic achievement, although more so for adolescent boys than for girls" (Community, Media, and School, 7). The positive influence from the neighborhood contributes to a better life towards adolescents because of the academical advantages that they receive. When they grow up in a healthy environment, they will be able to learn early on about the law. The younger they learn about the law, the better behavioral decisions they will make, "Although a younger child might know that stealing money can result in jail time, adolescents have the ability to understand legalities in a more abstract way" (Values and Norms, 10, 11). The younger they learn about the law, the more they will think twice about their decisions when they get older. There is a lot of technology in our world today. This technology can have a positive or negative effect on the viewer. If the viewer is young they are more likely to be vulnerable to a negative message, "However, research shows that excessive media exposure can negatively influence teenagers' nutrition, body image and health" (Risk, Regulation and Influence, 3). Too much exposure to technology will effect not only their health but their decisions as well. Role models can effect the impact of the message. Role models are the people that you look up to, and they are the people that encourage you. These people can effect weather the message will have a positive or negative effect on the viewers, "Interacting and cooperating with other adults encourages you to see the world in different ways" (Advocating for Good Health, 4). When they encourage a positive message, it could help you think outside of the box and make you look at the world in a different way. If the message is given in a negative way, it could effect the actions of young people. They could change their ways to be like their role models. They can interpret the negative message through a negative action, "The aim of bullying is to cause embarrassment and humiliation in the subject" (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying, 6). These actions do not have to be just physical actions against the weaker person, but bullying could also be interpret in different ways. Improving positive effects on situations can lead to a healthier life and a long term solution.

There are two things that negatively effect my health. They include family and media. With conflict in the family comes negative effects on the family members around them. My sisters and I have major conflicts all the time with each other. These conflicts do not only effect us but they also effect my parents as well. My parents are mature enough not to make bad life decisions. But when we do fight, it puts them in a bad mood. The negative mood that everyone is in, effects everyone's work as well. We do not effectively put 100% of our effort into our work. We could fix this problem by trying to negotiate with one another. This will allow us to stop our fighting and it will solve the conflict before we negatively effect the whole family. When we are all in good moods, then we will all have positive outcomes in our work. Media is the biggest negative contributor to my health. I am always on the computer or watching the T.V after school. I hardly go outside anymore and I do not get the healthy exercise that I need to live a long healthy life. We need to exercise at least 60 minutes a day, but the only exercise I get, is walking between classes during school. There are many ways that I can fix this problem. I can go outside and walk around my neighborhood to clear my mind, instead of watching T.V. I can also do my homework sooner so that I can get off the computer faster and then go play with my friends outside. Finally, I could stop watching videos on my phone while doing homework. This will allow me to get my homework done faster and with more time to spear to exercise. These fixes will help me turn these negative problems, into positive solutions.
