Kerry has always wanted to work in care. Growing up, she has been a young carer for her mum, so she knows what skills she needs to do the job well. She would like to work in a care home, specifically working with adults with learning disabilities.

Kerry struggles to concentrate in the classroom and due to a decline in her behaviour, she is excluded from her school. She goes to a specialist school that can support her to improve her behaviour. They also allow her to volunteer in a care home one afternoon a week.

The care home that Kerry has been volunteering at have said that now she has a criminal record, it is against their employment policy for her to work there.

Kerry applies to a few other jobs, but has the same feedback. After a meeting with a careers advisor, Kerry finds out that it is unlikely she will be able to work in Care until her conviction no longer shows on her criminal record.

Kerry is upset, she made one bad decision and now feels that she has lost friends, worried her mum and ruined the plan she had for her future.

One night, Kerry is out with her friends. She sees a girl from her old school, who begins making fun of her. Kerry decides to punch the girl. The girl later reports this to the police.

Kerry is arrested. Her mum, who is poorly anyway, is very worried about about what might happen and doesn’t know how she will cope if Kerry is sentenced to prison.

On the day of her court case, Kerry is not given a prison sentence. She is given a support worker from the Youth Offending Team and has to do 100 hours of community service. Kerry is also given anger management.

Kerry and her family are happy with this outcome. However, Kerry’s friends are now wary to go out with her as they say she “kicks off” and they don’t want to get into trouble. Kerry doesn’t have as many friends and begins to feel lonely.

Kerry deserves the consequences because she didn't concentrate enough in class , also she needs a better argument in court and like get the charges dropped or something .

Kerry didn’t really care about other’s feelings and punch the girl, so I think she deserve this.

i think kerry deserves it cause she made the decision and she therefore faces the consequences

and if someone is saying something bad about you, then Kerry should be quiet in that moment but instead report that friend for emotional damage.

Kerry have diffculties on concentration in class. She did wrong thing and her friends doesn't like her anymore that

I think she doesn't doesn't deserve the consequences. She was only trying to defend herself from the girl bothering her. Other than that, it's only a punch, it's not like she murdered her or threatened her. It isn't too serious. But in the same time, she did overreact a little when she could've just walked away.

Kerry lashed out on a shallow comment, acquired a charge AND a criminal record, lost friends, wasted time on community service and lost her chances in working at any care facilities
