What does being Indian mean to me? It is so unique with its diverse cultures, languages, and tradition. It gives me a deep connection to heritage, its rich history stretching back millions of centruries, being one of the oldest civilizations in history, rich culture. It gives me a way of life. The way to live life to its fullest, you can believe in many gods, to always be a good person and when you die, you reincarnate into another life based on the actions of your previous self. Being able to host Diwali and Ganesh festival in my own home with all of my family is a very memorable moment, the house being all lit up and praying to our gods giving us blessing that will last us a lifetime. What does being Indian mean to me? It gives me a way to live life to its fullest.

My mom handed me a small box, and inside was a necklace, one that was passed down from my grandmother to my mother and now to me. I didn't know it then but the pendant had way more significance than I thought it did. I thought it was just something religious but I never knew what it represented. The Om, in Hinduism, symbolizes the universe and ultimate reality, sacred sound and spiritual icon that connects everything. Learning this changed the way that I saw my necklace, it had truly deepened my connection to my heritage, and it gave me stronger sense of my identity.

Words cannot explain how much my mother has helped me. My mother has done so much for me that I could never repay her. She cared for me my whole life, got me the best gifts for my birthday, spends time with me even when I dont feel like doing anything, cooking the best food, and etc. When my mom was pregnant with my sister her diabetes had gone away, but when she became pregnant with me, not only did she have to get a C- Section, the diabetes came back and it affects her till this day and she had to live with diabetes her whole life, and I could never repay for the things she had done for me
