  • Fate: Macbeth was given a prophecy that eventually became true and became his fate. Voldemort was destined to be killed by Harry after he failed to kill him as a baby. Both Macbeth and Voldemort brought about their own demise through their actions.
  • Power: Macbeth wanted to be King and rule over everyone. Voldemort wanted to be the most powerful wizard.
  • Ambition: Macbeth was a noble and honorable Thane who eventually let ambition get the best of him. He was concerned only with getting power and was willing to take down anyone who stood in his way like Macduff. Tom Riddle was one of the best students at Hogwarts.  Voldemort and Macbeth both began to care more about gaining power and turned evil.
