It follows a trend of conservatives demonising already marginalised groups to use as scapegoats for their own failings as a government. Violence against women has greatly increased in the UK due to the sexist policies of the Tory government who turn a blind eye to sexual abuse within their own ranks which has normalised sexism in wider society. However rather than acknowledge the deep rooted sexism within their own party, they use trans people, in particular trans women (MTF), as scapegoats. It criminalises the very existence of trans women by labelling them as perverts or sexual predators, people unfit to exist in public, just in the same way that the government labeled queer people 30 years ago.

The criminal justice system is not helpful at times, as the system is corrupt and filled with bias in some cases where criminals are not punished adequately for their crimes, leaving the victims vulnerable to poor mental health or even danger which the criminal justice system does not provide an effective way to prevent that.
