When there is trash on the ground, it is often swept away in a storm and ends up in a body of water. If the water becomes polluted, it is no longer good to drink. It can also lead to clogging drains. When trash enters the ocean, it can create many health risks for the animals living in there. They can either consume the trash, or get tangled up in it, which can lead to death (Unisan, 2022).

An excessive amount of trash can lead to fires. The smallest spark or strike of lightning to flammable materials can cause a huge fire. It often can result in the loss of lives and property if the fire becomes uncontrollable, due to the amount of litter present.
