Everyone smiling as they pose or make ridiculous faces. She stares at her phone in utter joy as she reads the comments:complements,emojis,and many likes on the photo. Still scrolling and just as face as her face lit up she looked with slit eyes and a unhappy smile as she reads a certain comment “ <em>HAHAHAH look at those losers!,” and many other people liking that comment. </em>With an upset look on her face he throws her phone onto her bed. This is one of the many ways social media has disrupted the lives of teens alike with hate and negativity. Other reasons being that Social Media has made our children mees with their health,Academics,and even online predators.          <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><div>Finally, Social media also starts encourages kids/teens to not do homework. They start to lack in school. Their grades start dropping and test scores are way lower than before. Social media affects academics so much that kids &amp; teens can't wait to go home and use their phones. They use all their time with social media and forget about school work. Based on the evidence from the newsela article, it states Teens who get hooked on such forms of social media find it hard to spend too much time away from them. Their schoolwork can suffer as a result. This shows how grades and tests can drop because of the use of social media. Teens use their phones during school and sometimes even during class. They don't pay attention and don't learn anything while in school.</div>]]></description>

For example, one health effect is an increase in of depression and sleep.  According to the newsela article “ Negative, positive effects of excessive social media use on teens studied” says they're studies have shown the around-the-clock world of social media takes a mental and emotional toll on some young people. It has been linked to increasing worrying and feelings of depression. Social media can affect mood and worsen depression. They have also found that the more time teens spend on social media, the more likely they have problems sleeping. This is important to consider because social media affects health in such and many ways. Teenagers are easily often affected by what others say. They might even start comparing their lives to those of people on social media. This might cause depression.
