This image is an infographic detailing the importance of soil. Soil is one of the Earth's most important resources, which makes it fitting for this unit. 
b. This specific image was the most detailed infographic regarding the soil's importance. It has 3 different parts, each of which talks about a different factor of soil. Overall, this infographic stresses the importance of conserving soil for humans and the environment.
c. I personally do not interact much with soil, besides occasionally while helping with gardening. When I do interact with soil, I am always surprised by how heterogeneous the soil is and how there are so many different organisms living in it. This infographic was helpful to me personally for understanding that soil is a lot more important than I had previously believed. Additionally, this infographic relates to my worldview of stewardship because stewardship refers to the responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation. One way that I can personally protect the natural environment is be knowledgeable about soil conservation.

The image is a map of the remaining population of indigenous species as a percentage of the original populations. This relates to the unit because it shows the loss of biodiversity of certain areas along with the populations of the species.
b. This specific map shows the drastic changes in populations of species from all over the world. It highlights the extreme losses with an eye-catching red color which really shows the extent to the loss of indigenous species populations.
c. I have only seen endangered animals at the zoo and have had no personal interactions with any of them. However, I know the importance of protecting endangered species in order to prevent extinction. This map really made me realize that there is a lot of loss of biodiversity happening around the world, and it is very likely that the loss is related to humans. This connects to my worldview because I see this as an opportunity to act to protect the species of the earth in order to prevent any further loss of populations.

This comic shows that the root cause of global warming is the skyrocketing human population growth in recent years. This is related to the unit because it shows the impact of the growing population. 
b. This comic is apt because it shows that the main cause of global warming is the unsustainable human population growth, rather than sustainability, clean energy, sustainable agriculture, or carbon footprints. This comic also highlights the ignorance that there is pertaining the problem of human population, which stresses the need to address the problem.
c. I personally am concerned about the recent boom in human population. I agree with the comic author that the population growth has caused global warming because now there are more people on the earth that need resources and goods which ultimately create pollution. As someone who values stewardship, I think that we should take steps to protect the environment from global warming through taking steps to control the population growth.

This graph shows the human population since 10,000 BC. This is related to the unit because it shows the recent boom in human population relative to the thousands of years before it.
b. This graph is almost comical in how it shows the drastic increase in human population in such a short time relative to a long time ago. The increments used on the x-axis make this graph special because it shows how short the time span of the increase in population was in.
c. I think that the population growth in recent years are a cause of concern because it is so drastic a change in such a short time period. I think that this will cause a lot of problems for the environment as there is an increased stress on the environment, which the Earth can not adjust to as quickly. My worldview of stewardship is relevant to this graph, because the environment can only be protected and conserved if the population is growing at a sustainable rate. However, overpopulation threatens to cause drastic changes to the environment which must be prevented through controlling the human population.

This infographic depicts the deforestation of tropical rainforests in the Americas. This is related to the unit because it shows how deforestation occurred due to the use of the land for food and/or resources. The forests were cut down and used for resources, or the land that was cleared was used for farming/livestock.
b. I chose this image specifically because of the tree graph. I found the graph very clear visually on how much of the rainforest in specific countries were left. I found the use of the trees to show the levels of deforestation creative and interesting. It showed the viewer visually how much of the rainforests were left.
c. Deforestation is a big problem in the world. I find the pictures of cleared forests due to logging to be very disturbing because the loggers are disturbing the natural beauty and resources of the forests. As someone who values stewardship, I believe that we should protect the environment, especially the forests that are vulnerable to deforestation. I think that we should actively work to prevent the logging of the tropical rainforests in order to preserve the trees in the forests and prevent further deforestation.

This graph shows the world hydroelectric generation from 1965 to 2011. This graph relates to the unit because it shows how hydroelectric power (a type of energy) has been increasing in production over the past few decades.
b. I chose this image because it was the clearest in conveying the increase in world hydroelectric generation. A lot of the other graphs were country specific, or only showed the past few years. However, this graph was clear in showing that the world hydroelectric generation more than tripled in the past 50 years.
c. I think that hydroelectric power is a very important renewable resource that must be used in the present and future to produce electricity. The current production of electricity using nonrenewable sources is unsustainable and causes a lot of environmental problems (mainly global warming). Thus, I find that hydroelectric power and other types of renewable energy sources are the future for a clean and sustainable Earth.

The graph below shows the comparisons between electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles when it comes to fuel cost, annual maintenance costs, and CO2 emissions. This graph relates to the unit because it shows how we can conserve energy through the development of more efficient vehicles.
b. I chose this graph because it shows that the electric vehicle is clearly a better choice when it comes to the three important factors relative to economic and environmental impacts. The other graphs were either confusing, had too many factors, or had too little factors. I found this graph to be the only one with factors that were relevant and important when comparing the two types of vehicles.
c. My family drives an internal combustion engine vehicle, but I have been asking my parents to buy an electric vehicle recently. I was fixated on electric vehicles since middle school when I did a project dealing with them and their impacts on the environment. Even back then, I knew that the electric vehicles were superior in almost every field, especially CO2 emissions. As someone who values stewardship, I think that it is our duty to buy electric vehicles in order to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment from our transportation.

This is an image of the pollution in the grasses next to the Bayou in the park that I was in. It is related to the unit because it shows the pollution that is caused by humans.
b. I chose this image because it shows how there is literally pollution everywhere caused by humans. No matter the place, no matter the time, there will almost always be human-caused pollution. The Bayou Park that I took this picture at was teeming with wildlife and plants, but even the park was not prone to people polluting with their trash.
c. Although I cleaned up the trash in this photo with Matthew for the Trash Tag, there are multiple instances where I am unable to pick up trash that I see. It is very annoying and saddening to see pollution in places where there shouldn't be, just because the polluter doesn't want to hold on to their trash until they see a trash can. As someone who values stewardship, I think that everyone should do their part to prevent pollution. Polluters should stop polluting, and everyone else should try to pick up a piece of trash or two. It is only through the collective actions of everyone that we can reduce the effects of pollution.

This comic shows one Godzilla telling the other that it does not want to eat Los Angeles due to its smog. This comic relates to the unit because it highlights the air pollution of Los Angeles.
b. I chose this comic because it humorously points out the terrible air condition in Los Angeles due to the smog created by air pollution in the city. The other comics did not have the same level of humor. This comic was funny and also addressed the existence of the problem at the same time in a clear and simple kind of way.
c. I have only been to Los Angeles airport, and I did not have the chance to step out into the actual city. However, I think that the problem in Los Angeles is not a localized problem. There are a bunch of other cities and areas where smog is a big problem for residents. Although Houston is not as bad for smog, I think that it would be a big problem if there was any more air pollution in Houston due to the moderate air quality here. As someone who values stewardship, I think that people and companies should do everything that they can to prevent air pollution. Air is something that everyone breathes, so creating air pollution not only affects your health, but those around you as well.

This graph shows the increase in global average temperature from 1850 to 2018. This related to the unit because global temperatures changing is the main global change discussed in the unit.
b. I chose this graph because there is an obvious correlation between time and temperature. This graph does a great job at depicting a wide time interval along with the change in temperature during that time interval. Additionally, I chose this graph because it was clear and the line was easy to follow in contrast with the other graphs that depicted global average temperatures.
c. I have not personally felt the effects of global temperatures rising, but I have seen the effects. There have been an increase in devastating hurricanes in the past decades in Houston (Katrina, Harvey, Ike). I think that we should take steps to prevent further increases in global temperatures, whether it be through cutting down emissions or switching to renewable energy sources. I believe that there will be more drastic effects of increasing temperatures such as the polar ice caps melting very soon. As someone who values stewardship, I think that it is the responsibilities of everyone to do their part to cut down emissions and stunt the growth in global temperatures.
