I remember having my mom in our 3rd grade class to help practice reading with other students. Growing up I felt that my teachers were generally for me and liked me. I didn't feel like I could go to my teachers with my non-academic needs. I don't have a memory of a teacher that I just didn't like, but I also felt more like my teachers were educating "at" me, rather than "with me." My graduating class was about 70 students. We all felt very connected as we all grew up together and knew most of each other's siblings as well.
