It’s a good source for learning risk assessment of the supplier chain. Mainly, this was about the supplier chain and the various risks associated with it. The basic food supply chain seems very simple but in actual it is complex as it has many risks associated with it. The sources of the risk are the suppliers & supply chain entities and raw materials. Each company should have risk assessment documents which forms the basis for acceptance of raw material and its testing. Moreover, the company should have documented supplier approval procedure to make sure that the materials provide by the supplier are safe and of good quality. It also provides insight into the food safety codes for manufacturing, GFSI standards which emphasise on the proper process for the selection approval and monitoring of the suppliers, and food safety modernization act. Besides this, matrix models and basic criteria RA for different suppliers were discussed.
