Decidió inscribirse en la Universidad de Leeds donde se formó en inglés y drama. Tras terminar su grado se matriculó en la Universidad de Londres donde, terminó su tesis doctoral sobre las posibilidades del drama y el teatro en la educación.

Robinson es un brillante conferencista. Actualmente vive en Los Ángeles, California.
