The PFO stands for Parent/Faculty Organization. We are parent's, guardians, caregivers and Myrtle faculty that come together to give our students the best elementary experience! The PFO supports MANY programs to enrich our children's educational experiences. Some of the things we provide for the students are:
-Assemblies
-Book Fairs
-Field Trips
-Yearbooks
-Free planners and T-shirts based on grade
-Beautification and playground updates
-Spirit days, family fun events like our Halloween Truck or Treat. 
-Fundraising for school purchases and supplies
-Myrtlepalooza
-MUCH, MUCH MORE!!

All of these events are provided by the parents/guardians of Myrtle students! Without volunteers, these things would NOT happen! Please consider volunteering this year! We have many opportunities and many of our committee's need new faces and fresh ideas! All of our board members are working parents; we can help find which volunteer opportunity works best for you! Welcome to the PFO!  I have been active in the PFO going on 5 years now. I was a general member for 1 year, secretary for 2 years, vice president for 1 year and now president. I have two daughters, Ava, who is in 4th grade and Mia who is in 1st grade. I work full time for a local school district as a certified school dental hygienist & public health dental hygiene practitioner. I provide dental screenings and teach dental health education. I am also pursuing a Masters degree in Education (just 1 year left!) When I am not working, writing papers for my masters degree, or tending to the PFO, you can find me running my girls to either competitive cheer practice, gymnastics or one of their softball practices or games! You might even see me conducting a meeting from one of their activities!  Even though I barely have time to think these days, I am active in the PFO because I want my daughters and the students at Myrtle Elementary to have the best possible experience during their time at Myrtle! Without the PFO and the wonderful parents who commit to it,  our kids would not have fun and educational assemblies, Kindergarten ice cream social, Halloween trunk or treat/party, yearbooks, Myrtlepalooza, Holiday shop, Myrtle spirit wear store, free tshirts and planners, beautification and much much more!  Please, be patient with me as I navigate this year as President and please consider joining and volunteering with the PFO!
