This was because of ttheir military power , meaning that the Romans have expanded so that they gained trade and resources. When Paul had seen God, he realised that he needs to spread the word of god and convert Jews and Gentiles to Christianity. The Romans did not like this and asked Paul to not preach in the name of the lord, but Paul declined and carried on trying to over rule the Romans with belief and values of the early christians and their religion. Greek and Latin were the official languages of the Roman Empire. Although, they were excepting of the other languages spoken among the communities for example; Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese. At the time Paul wrote this letter people were taking advantage of the poor by taking all. They had the poor were stealing off the wealthy because of this. The relevance of these messages applies to us to day as it did to the Romans but today It also mean that if we are guided to temptations God will always welcome us back and forgive us.
