         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Congress passed an act to clear out the Indians residing east of the Mississippi, the Indian Removal Act. If all went well all the Indians were to be brought westward.  The Cherokees resisted protected by treaties put in place earlier but Georgia refused to uphold said treaties.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The cotton gin is a marvelous invention that cleans 50 lbs of cotton in the same amount of time it took workers to clean 1 pound. Created by Eli Whitney, a massive leap in production efficiency. While it was important for efficiency it also brought a higher demand for slave labor.</p>]]></description>
