We learned about the Yuma 14 and their "Operation Broken Promise". They start talking about dead bodies. We soon hear about how there are several different choices to cross and to go to the US including money. It’s considered expensive it is to cross the border for people who don’t take the dangerous path, and can cost around 50,000 dollars (U.S). It’s also difficult for people to travel through locations.

In this chapter, It is shown that the trail is going to be long and tiring. Many people cross the border and many people die. While the police don’t do much, it is also known that the coyotes do this only for money, and don’t care about the peoples safety. We also learn about signs that warn people not to cross. We learn about the risks given and we are introduced to Teresa, who tries to help crossers, but also warns them of the risk to come.
