He was a youth group leader for his church when he found out. Luke Mickelson started the Sleep in Heavenly Peace foundation in 2012 when he found out that kids in his hometown where sleeping on the floor. His goal is to make bunk beds for kids that aren’t able to afford a bed to sleep on, the first year doing this he made 11 bunk beds. As the years went by he made more beds for kids, the second year he made 16 bunk beds and each year the number doubled, this year he has made 612 bunk beds. In 2017 his foundation made 1500 beds that were given to kids all over America. Luke is now 41 years old and he is still making beds and getting more people involved.

In 2012, Luke was a youth group leader in Twin Falls, Idaho when he found out that kids in his town where having to sleep on the floor. He will deliver the bed to the family and put it together in front of kids and let them pick where it goes. His community is helping him with his project. He has days where people from his town can come and help in making beds, these days are called ‘Build Days’.
