I picked this book on Overdrive when I was looking for a good crime story during Christmas holidays.
I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, as it opened - what it seemed - at the end of the story, but I was quickly drawn in by the mystery and the beautiful writing. What a read! I could not put it back. It kept me at the edge of my seat, there was not a dull moment. The build-up was fantastic. It left me wondering what could happen next. Great writing!

I chose this title after reading almost in one breath, The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle, and I was not disappointed!
This time, Stuart Turton takes his readers on a journey from Batavia to Amsterdam on board a United East India Company's ship.- It's 1634 and the great detective Samuel Pipps is being transported to Amsterdam to be executed for a crime he may, or may have not committed. He is accompanied by his faithful bodyguard Arent Hayes, who is determined to prove his friend's innocence. As soon as they are out to sea, devilry begins to blight the voyage. A strange symbol appears on the sail.
A great, gripping novel, you can't put down.
Again, great writing by Mr. Turton.

I chose this book because every single page kept my eyes glued to it, forcing me to turn page to page over and over again. This amazing book, written by John Wyndham is about Triffids basically taking over the whole of London and more. These enormous plants kill humans by whipping them with their sting rays.
I highly recommend this book as it will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way.
This book is one of the most compelling page turners I have read.

I like this because Michael himself has autism and he's a comedian, so he is not afraid or embarrassed about having it. His book tells you about how he's had it since he was little and that you shouldn't be ashamed of it.

Journey to the West is a Chinese novel that was written in the 16th century by Wu Cheng'en. It has many adaptations and translations, I'm currently reading the Julia Lovell translation.
It follows the misadventures of a group of demons, a Buddhist monk and their horse. It's a very iconic book and has many references to it in both western and eastern media.
